One man who could lend love the sweetest melodies and most sacred harmonies was the "Orpheus Britannicus", Henry Purcell. His "If music be the food of love" score and a few more of his intimate songs of love and life will be performed by Christophe Rousset and the musicians of Les Talens Lyriques together with Grace Durham, winner of the Innsbruck Cesti Competition 2019, in the Great Hall. Christophe Rousset and his ensemble Les Talens Lyriques join the large French group of artists with a particularly fine and intimate relationship with the music and art of the British Isles. Together with them, sensitive accompanists assist Grace Durham as she makes her way through Purcell's musical-lyrical realms.
