During the time of passive power conflicts in the Christian Western Church, multi-voice sacred and secular music flourished massively. The ensemble “La fonte musica” dedicates itself in the Innsbruck Hofkirche (Court Church) to two of the most important late medieval musicians from this period: Matteo da Perugia and Antonio "Zacara" da Teramo. With three vocal parts and instruments (lute, viola da braccio and gamba) under the direction of the lutenist Michele Pasotti, La fonte musica immerses itself in the bursting with vitality, rapturous sacred music of Matteo and Antonio with their beautiful musical ornaments and exciting multi-voiced sequences.
