The musicians of the French ensemble Agamemnon were inspired by Archduke Ferdinand's “Chamber of Art and Wonders" at Ambras Castle to create their own musical chamber of wonders. They collected sonatas and canzonas of the 17th century, which emerged from the “stylus phantasticus” which was dominant at the time. Sonatas take the place of paintings, ballet music makes magic flowers dance, representations of mythological allegories become mysterious soundscapes. The audience will be presented with auditory masterpieces by composers who worked at the Habsburg Court in Vienna, such as Johann Heinrich Schmelzer and Johann Joseph Fux.
