Christian Pinaud, born on 1 January 1963, trained at the Ecole de la rue Blanche Ensatt in Paris from 1983 to 1985. Together with Jean Varela, he founded the Compagnie IN SITU, which he runs together with Jean Varéla and Dag Jeanneret.
His professional career has taken him to the opera houses of Paris, San Francisco, Seoul, Geneva, Liège, Toyama, Chengdu, Bilbao, Nancy, Strasbourg, Turin, Tokyo, Palermo, Parma, Bologna, Tel Aviv, Montpellier, Nice, Rennes, Florence and Venice.
He has worked for theatre and opera with Alain Françon, Lorenzo Mariani, Michel Didym, Richard Brunel, Philippe Berling, Moshé Leiser, Guillaume Lévêque, Charles Tordjman, Vincent Garanger, Gérard Watkins, Bernard Lévy , Patrick Pineau, Patrick Haggiag, Dag Jeanneret, Richard Mitou, Alain Marcel, Christophe Gayral, Paco Decina, Zohar Wexler, Valérie Lesort, Matthew Jocelyn, Christian Hecq and Stephen Taylor.
He will be appearing at the Opéra Comique in Paris in September in Le Domino Noir, directed by Christian Hecq and Valérie Lesort.
