The German bass-baritone Christian Immler studied at London's Guildhall with Rudolf Piernay and is a winner of the Nadia and Lili Boulanger Competition in Paris. His calendar is filled with concerts with Herbert Blomstedt, René Jacobs, Semjon Bychkov, Marc Minkowski, Christophe Rousset, Philippe Herreweghe, Ivor Bolton, Daniel Harding, Kent Nagano, James Conlon, Masaaki Suzuki, Raphaël Pichon, William Christie , Laurence Equilbey and Leonardo García Alarcón as well as invitations to festivals such as the Salzburg Festival, the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence and the BBC Proms, to the Amsterdam Concertgebouw or the Sydney Opera determine his calendar.'
As a song and opera singer, Christian Immler has been a guest at Wigmore Hall London, the Frick Collection New York, the Opéra Comique Paris, the Teatro La Fenice di Venezia and the Theater an der Wien, just to name a few. His operatic experience ranges from Seneca in Monteverdi's "L'incoronazione di Poppea" to the Commendatore and Masetto in Mozart's "Don Giovanni", Don Fernando and Rocco in Beethoven's "Leonore", the Hermit in Weber's "Der Freischütz", the Music Teacher in Strauss's "Ariadne auf Naxos" and Dodo, Frog Footman and Mock Turtle in Unsuk Chin's "Alice in Wonderland". His concert performances include Mahler's 8th Symphony with the Minnesota Orchestra, Mendelssohn's "Elijah" with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, and the requiems of Dvořák, Brahms, Mozart, Fauré and Verdi.
His work is documented in more than 60 recordings, many of which have won awards (Grammy nomination, Echo and Opus Klassik Award, Diapason d'Or). Christian Immler is also in demand as a teacher and gives masterclasses worldwide.
