Ester Ferraro is a young Italian mezzo-soprano who completed her studies in opera singing at the Perugia Conservatory and later specialised in Renaissance and Baroque singing at the Ferrara Conservatory under the direction of Gloria Banditelli. She is currently perfecting her singing technique under the direction of Marina de Liso.
Ester Ferraro has won several Italian and international singing competitions – most recently the International Competition for Baroque Singing XVII Premio Fatima Terzo 2023 – and has been performing extensively as a soloist in Italy and abroad since 2017. She has worked with conductors such as Carlo Palleschi, Piero Caraba, Alessandro Quarta, Romolo Gessi, Leonardo Lollini, Samuele Lastrucci, Luca Bacci, Marco Titotto and with artistic directors such as Nikos Efthimiadis and Francesco Micheli. In 2021, she was selected to take part in the masterclass for opera singing "Bottega Donizetti", where she was able to improve her singing and acting skills under the direction of Alex Esposito, Michele d'Elia and Damiano Michieletto. In 2018, she made her debut in Arezzo in the role of Zita in Puccini's "Gianni Schicchi" and in 2022 in the role of Cherubino in Mozart's "Le Nozze di Figaro" at the Teatro Comunale in Ferrara.
In February 2024, she was selected as a student of the Rodolfo Celletti 2024 Bel Canto Academy under the artistic direction of Sebastian F. Schwarz and Fabio Luisi. In March 2024, she was accepted as a student at the Centre de perfectionament "Palau de les arts" in Valencia for the 2024/2025-2025/2026 seasons, where she will debut in October 2024 in the role of Rosette in Massenet's "Manon , in January 2025 in the role of Mère Jeanne de l'Enfant Jesus in Poulenc's "Dialogues des Carmélites" and in April 2025 in the role of La Ciesca in Puccini's "Gianni Schicchi" at the Palau des Arts.
