In the heart of Innsbruck, Benedikt Sonnleitner's workshop for brass instruments offers exciting insights into the world of trumpet making, a skilled craft that demands precision down to the smallest detail. Handmade instruments combine ancient traditions, the highest craftsmanship, and proven knowledge. In individual steps, sheets of metal are shaped and soldered, bells are hammered, tubes are bent, and valves and valve systems are mounted. Benedikt Sonnleitner unveils the meaning of all these steps and demonstrates how they come together to create a functional trumpet in two workshops.
